Why I'm a coach:
I became a coach because I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, unseen, and unsure how to move forward. During the pandemic, I saw how many friends - especially neurodivergent and spiritually conflicted - were silently struggling. I didn’t want to offer surface-level support; I wanted to walk with people in a way that honored both their faith, the inner workings and their mental health. Coaching gave me the tools to do that, while helping me heal too. I’m here to offer support where people feel safe, heard, and empowered to grow spiritually, mentally, and professionally.

About Marae
Pray with Marae, co-founder and CEO of One Accord: The Guild

I’m Marae Hoover, founder of Pray with Marae, a ministry dedicated to prayer education and spiritual support, and co-founder and director of One Accord: The Guild (OAG), a Christ-centered online space for Adventist gamers, creatives, and deep feelers who often find themselves on the fringes of traditional church life.
In March 2020, during the Adventist Church’s 100 Days of Prayer, I felt a strong nudge to stream publicly for the first time. That leap of faith led to the birth of Pray with Marae, a seasonal weekly program that has now reached over 79 countries. Just a few months later, in the early days of the pandemic, I met a few like-minded friends online.
Together, we launched OAG as a place where people could be real, feel safe, and connect spiritually in a time of global disconnection. At first, we thought we were simply training digital evangelists. But as the community grew, we began to see that we were drawing people like us—neurodivergent, spiritually curious, emotionally deep, and often struggling in silence.
I wanted to help, and I did my best with what I had. But I quickly realized I needed a better toolkit. A friend invited me to Food for the Heart Bible studies, where I discovered the Abide Network and began their mental health coach training. I paused my chaplaincy studies to complete the certification, knowing God was inviting me to grow differently to serve this unique, beautiful community.
Through this journey—alongside mentoring, prayer, and wise friends—I began healing too. I developed deeper trust in God, grieved old wounds, regulated my nervous system, and reclaimed the strength I had given away to survive. I began to thrive.
Now, I walk alongside others who feel stuck in their minds or weighed down by emotion, especially those who’ve been told they’re too much, too sensitive, or not enough. I help people reconnect with God, gain clarity, and come back home to who they were created to be.
You don’t have to pretend to be okay here. You just need a little space to breathe, reflect, and begin again.
What I Believe
Every neurodivergent has skills that can be harnessed into their own unique superpower.
Jesus meets us in the mess of life, not just at the finish line.
We are never broken beyond repair.
Mental health and spiritual health are not in conflict - they’re intertwined.
You can be neurodivergent and still be called.
God doesn’t rush healing, He goes at your pace.My Values
Compassion before correction: People open up when they feel safe, not judged.
Faith with feet: I take practical steps rooted in biblical wisdom. Faith moves with intention, not just belief but embodied trust, and we let those take root.
Accessibility matters: I make intentional space for neurodivergent believers, the chronically ill, and those hurt by church culture.
Authentic connection: I’d rather sit in the tension with you than offer a quick fix.
Rest as resistance: Sabbath isn’t optional - it’s a sacred space for survival.Fun Facts
I’m a psychology/theology student, and a firm believer in second chances.
I’m a Sims 2/4 and No Man’s Sky fan, but I got started on Tetris and PS1 IQ and I run a Minecraft ministry (yes, really).
Crohns, Colitis, and Proctitis Warrior - a path that’s tested my body and strengthened my faith.
I collect comforting Scripture verses like treasures.
My favorite prayer time is late at night, whispering hope into the dark.
Minty chapstick, deep belly breathing, movement flow, and worship playlists are my go-to reset tools.Favorite Scriptures
Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV): "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Ephesians 1:5 (AMP): "He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will."
These verses have been anchors for me in seasons of uncertainty, identity, and rebuilding. I love so many Scriptures that remind me of God's gentleness, His timing, and the quiet power of grace.
